From: lfigy@aol.com on Thursday, March 18, 1999 State: Connecticut Story: I was driving home from work on Thursday the 11th of March. I work the second shift at my job. I stayed a couple of hours of overtime and headed home. That night was snowing very light nothing heavy and it was 2.30 in the morning. I was driving at a slower pace because of the wheather. It takes me 40 minutes to get home. On my way home I take rte 80 which passes several towns. Entering into the second town which is East Haven, CT I noticed a Police officer stationed in his car. So as I passed him I made sure that I saw him while driving 25mph. 15 seconds later I see in my rear veiw mirror bright flashing lights so I was pulled over. As the officer approached my truck he ask for License, registration and insurance card. I asked the officer why was I pulled over and he said that he felt that I was travel unsafe because of the wheather condition. The speed limit on that road is 35mph I was going 25mph. he summoned me the ticket and off he went. This happened at three in the morning. He did not clock me or used any other means radar equipment other than his feeling. I pleaded not guilty and will fight this on in court. Oh by the way I was driving during the day where this happened and I realized that going home North bound I did not see on speed limit sign in the town of East Haven. Going south there are only two speed limit signs reading 35mph. So I have to see if there is a city violation. |
