From: Leon Bouttell on Sunday, July 25, 1999

State: United Kingdom

Story: I was driving down a dual carriageway where the speed limit is 70 mph. I came upto two or three cars, pulled out to overtake and accelerated this was affected by the road going downhill. I reached around 85 mph. When I passed the cars I pulled over and resumed to 70 mph. A policeman had seen me coming down the hill and used two fixed points on the road to calculate my speed. He pulled me over and told me I was doing 101.55 mph, I couldnt belienve where this figure had come from. I continued to denie I was travelling at this speed throughout the discussion. The test was carried out over 0.2 miles with the policeman sitting near to the finishing point.

I was summoned to court on the 23rd July. I pleaded guilty to exceeding the 70 mph speed limit but not guilty to travelling at 101.55 mph. The court was ajourned until 6th august..

This event didnt happen in the US but the UK
