From: Colin Whitlatch on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 State: Georgia Story: I was traveling northbound on a six lane divided highway with a posted speed limit of 55 mph, on a Sunday night at 10:45 pm. I was traveling at approx. 70 mph, the same speed as a pickup truck right next to me. Out of nowhere, a car pulled right behind me and started to ride my tail. I proceeded to speed up so I could pull into the lane to my right, ahead of the pickup. As soon as I sped up, the car behind started flashing, and it was a cop. I pulled over, and he wrote me a citation saying I was "paced from 13W to Tilly Mill at 80,81 mph". He wrote me a ticket for going 78 in a 55. I am 18, and I believe my license will be suspended. Please let me know. I believe that the law is now under age 21 and caught speeding over 21 = license suspended for six months. Colin Whitlatch |
