State: Georgia

Story: I was on interstate going toward Smyrna and right after exit 5, I saw a cop on the side of the road getting into his vehicle, there was no vehicle in front of him that he just pulled over, I assumed he was just taking a break on the side of the road. Anyway I looked down to see how fast I was going and I was doing about 70 and by the time I was side by side passing him I was already down to about 62. As cars passed me left and right of me, I noticed that the cop was gaining on me and I made sure I was only doing about 60 by then, due to me being from Alabama. He folllowed my for about 3/4 of a mile and then hit his lights. I pulled out all the stuff I was going to have to give to him to make things easier.

When he came on the side of my truck he said "Are you in a hurry for some reason" I told him no, and he said "well the laser gun clocked you at 86"

I told him I don't think I was going that fast and he asked me if I would like to see the gun? I told him yes. Well my boyfriend had just bought the truck 5 days prior to us going to see my father. And in the state of Alabama you have 10 working days to do a title transfer. So when he ran the tag he came back to the truck and rudely said "Give the keys" I said "May I ask why" he said "Just give me the keys" I told him " If you think the truck is stolen you are highly wrong" After he grabbed the keys out of my hand he said "Why would you think I think the truck is stolen" I said "My father used to be a cop and I know what they do "

After sitting in the heat for about a total of 45mins sweating and getting sick from being so hot. He came back with two tickets One for speeding- doing 86 in a 55. I told him I wasn't going that fast and I still wanted to see the gun he told me I had to sign it first before he would show me the laser gun. The other for Inproper Tags- I told him that it states in the paperwork that he had of ours that we had ten days in the state of Alabama.

He told me that he looks over the paperwork and found nothing. Yes he finally showed me the gun and treated me like I was some stupid female that just fell off of a truck. I don't think Cops get the respect of others due to cops like the one I had. If he would just of let me show him on the paperwork and explain how I know he didn't have the right vehicle, he just gave my the tickets and went on his way. So for all you cops that are reading this "IF YOU WANT RESPECT FOR US, THEN YOU SHOULD RESPECT OTHERS UNTIL THEY DESERVE NO RESPECT"

Tell Them What You Think!
They have sworn to serve you
