Story: Well, I just got a speeding ticket on Thanksgiving Day on my way to a Groc. store. The street I was on was a 25mph one way two lane road. I was in a hurry to get more soft drinks and citrus punches for my fiances fathers which he needed real fast because of multiple amount of families there.

So I decided to hurry as fast as I can in a 25 mile lane and decided to just give it more gas on this Supercharged Toyota MR2 red Sports Coupe. I had my radar phazer M-19 ld5 turned off (legal in my state) at the time. Soon as I drove into the groc. store, the police equipment pulled right before me and told me to "stay put and don't even think about it!" So there he was, right next to me asking me nicely "Do you know why I pulled you over". I told him "Yes I do, I was doing 40mph in that lane" . Well then he laughed and said " No you didn't! You were speeding almost twice the speed limit at 47mph on clock time radar".

This is the time where I knew I was getting a ticket, so I was feeling a little bit scared because it will be my second one which may affect my insurance big time.

Well, before he went back to his vehicle, he ask me why I was speeding. I just told him that I was in a really big hurry on the demands of soft drinks and punches for a huge amount of family members. And of course, he didn't respond but returned back to his vehicle preparing a ticket. This process took 25 minutes.

When he brought me back the ticket, he ask me to step out of the car as if he wanted to make sure I wasn't drunk and unfortunately I don't drink and will not drink under any condition period!! The officer told me that he didn't get me for reckless driving, speaking as if that's what he wanted to cite me for, a misdeaminor. I was of course cited for infractional speeding violation.

After I pulled away, I looked in the back of the ticket where the price is usually located. And I was shocked to see the amount it was, $108.00. That really ruined my day although I knew I deserve that ticket but I didn't think I deserve to be charged over 100 dollars on thanks giving day. That blew my anger up to the point I had to do something about it. I compared my ticket to a much older adult who I knew that had a speeding ticket going 49 mph on a 25 mph lane and was cited for infraction violation at $68 dollars.

I didn't know why I was charged that much. I know I was going real fast but the price!! They gotta be kidding me!! Is it because I had a radar detected with a phazer that wasn't turned on but was visable within my windsheild. Was it because I was a 21 year old young adult dressed with a hat backward and a great big warming coat and a saggy pants. I have no relation to gang members or anything at all about breaking laws. I'm a student of Idaho State University. Was I mis judged or the officer wanted me to suffer?

I was gonna fight the amount of the ticket but everyone told me its not worth the trouble. Should I fight it or just accept that ticket amount that will jump my insurance company.

Well, this is my story, I hope it made sense to you.
