From: Morris Bentley on Sunday, September 13, 1998 State: North CarolinaStory: While traveling across North Carolina on Interstate 40 I was stopped by a Highway Patrol officer C. D. Jones. I asked him why he stopped me and he replied, you were speeding, I clocked you at 76, 76, and 80 mph. I was stunned. I had been following him at about 1/4 behind, maintaining a steady speed of 70 or 71 at the most. He pulls over on the right shoulder and proceded to pulled out after me when I passed him sitting there. When I asked him how he clocked me going 80/mph. He said, he had used shadows to time me. The next day I went to Mocksville, NC and hired an attorney. The attorney right away said she could get the ticket down to improper equipment which, would be no points or increase in insurance rates. Her cost 125. court cost 100. When leaving town purchased local paper. On page 5 of the Davie Country Enterprise Record, 9/10/98 there were a nearly a full page of people (over 50) who had apparently hired attorneys also and had their speeding charges reduced to improper equipment. It appears they have a scam going on here. The cop, attorneys, and everyboby are involved in robbing travelers. What a scam. They all should be hung. |
