Story: On December 15th I was on my way down a hill that has two lanes in both directions, when I was traveling in a group of traffic, mind you I use this route routinely also. I was suddenly selected from the group of cars and pulled over as one of many cars during a 4 police car speeding trap setup. The officer approached my car took my license and registration, this officer did not have a hat on and had a big wad of chew in his lip that was very unprofessional looking. He stated he clocked me for going 52 in a 35 coming down that hill, I hardly believe I was going that fast but anyway I got the ticket. When my passenger politely addressed the officer as Sir and asked him why we were signaled out of the group of cars and that it appeared that all the cars were doing the same speed the officer replied in a rude tone that that is no reason for speeding and that he had to go through 40 hours of intense training to use the radar gun. Anyway I have a court date for January 12 to try and fight this any ideas. I realize North Carolina has that Prayer for Judgement law but what about getting off this altogether or a non moving violation charge? It was a town of Chapel Hill in Orange County police officer if anyone can help please e-mail me at thasley@ipass.net.
