From: babyface877@yahoo.com on Tuesday, October 26, 1999 State: Ohio Story: I was running late to work. I was very fluttered and shaken because I couldn't find all my working gear- and without it I can't work! After ten minutes of getting worked up, I finally found my gear and headed out the door. My adrenaline was still pumping, my heart racing. Two cars where in front of me on the backroad which everyone goes 60+ mph. I was doing the limit all the way until the two cars in front of me slowed down to turn into the church on the right. Instead of slowing down with them, I decided to pass both of them. I made sure that oncoming traffic was clear and sped up to pass them and get back on my side. (I do believe that requires speeding up.) As soon as I get back on my side and let my foot off the gas I look over and see two cops sitting in a church parking lot. (At this point my foot is still letting off the gas.) I look down and see that the speedometer reads 60mph. The two cops turned on their flashing light and I pulled over. The two cops came to my window and asked how fast I was going. I told them what I looked down and saw, but they had something different....67. I can't deny that because I was passing so it is possible. I didn't fight it because no judge wants to hear excuses although it can happen with no intention of speeding. This is my third ticket in two years which my first one was just like this one. |
