Story: First off I would like to say that this site is really good. Second off I'am a federal law enforcement officer with the US Air Force. I would like to give some tips when driving through a federal instillation and a concurrent jurisdiction.

When driving through any military jurisdiction or instillation DO NOT GO ABOVE the posted speed. The military police and our civilian counter parts can and will write FEDERAL traffic citations. The DoD policy is that of safety. Most bases have a posted speed limit of 15 MPH or when you are passing troops this can be 10 MPH. If you do recieve a ticket on a military instillation, you will be required to go before a federal magistrate where he may go by what the particular state statues are or he may give you what the DoD guidelines state. The beginning cost of a Federal ticket is $350.00 for a first offense (it is worse if it is DUI).

Also have to say that if you are stopped on a military juridiction for speeding that you DO NOT have the right to see the radar gun. When it goes to trial all that will be brought in is the officer who stopped you and the caliberation certification for that day.

I hope this helps if anybody is stopped on a federal jurisdiction.

Most stories of what I was reading are basically that somebody was rifted that they got a speeding ticket
