Story: While driving a big truck (18 wheeler) northbound on I-81 in the Staunton, VA. area I was pulled over by a VA. State policeman and informed that I was speeding. He indicated 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. I was quite disconcerted as we had a shock absorber on the curbside steer tire that was quite warn and would cause severe vibration when the truck exceeded 70mph; also I had set the cruise control at approximately 68 mph; and finally as I was cresting the hill in the middle lane of I-81 I began to look to my right and in my mirrors so that I might pull over into the rightmost travel lane.

I was unable to pull over as several automobiles were passing me on the right side as my truck speed was slowing. I have since heard that I or rather the big truck may have been "shadowing" the other vehicles which were in fact travelling faster than I and were in the right hand lane-not in clear visual or laser/radar view of the police man in the median area of I-81 there in the Staunton area. I am truly concerned about this citation and am seeking resources/experience of others and specific information in order to successfully plead my case and prove my innocence. Also I have heard about a book entitled "How to Fight a Traffic/Speeding Ticket" or similar title which was available for sale on the fuel desk of the Flying J's in New Mexico and Arizona. If any one has this book or can share their experience in using it, I sure would appreciate hearing about it and also how to obtain a copy from the publisher. With much gratitude I appreciate everyone's assistance in this matter.
